According to NDIS, there are three categories of Support.

The NDIS provides funding to participants to purchase a range of supports aimed at increasing their independence, inclusion, and social and economic participation. This funding model is designed to be flexible and to allow service innovation. Importantly, the supports delivered will be chosen and paid for by individual participants from their approved NDIS plan. In the NDIS, supports for participants fall into three Support Purpose categories: core, capital, and capacity building. On the table below, we show the purpose categories and the services that Carespace provides.

CORE

A support that enables a participant to complete activities of day to day living and enables them to work towards achieving their goals and meeting their identified objectives

CAPITAL

An investment, such as assistive technologies, equipment and home or vehicle modifications. These are funding for capital costs, for example, to pay for Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA).

CAPACITY BUILDING

A support that enables a participant to build skills that would enable them to regain their independent living skills.
